MISS THE CONNECTION YOU USED TO HAVE?

The Connection Reset

A short online course for parents of teens aged 10-18.

Three short videos and a workbook.
Three simple shifts that change the atmosphere at home, in under an hour.

You remember what it used to be like.

They told you about their day. They came to you when something went wrong. You felt like you knew what was going on in their world.

Now you get one-word answers, a closed door, a shrug.

And when you do try to talk, it turns into an argument... or into nothing at all.

It doesn't mean you've failed.

Your teenager is changing, and the way you used to connect may not work in quite the same way anymore.

That can be hard. Especially when everything you're doing is coming from love.

Sometimes, the more we try to help, advise, protect or get through to our teenager, the further away they seem to move.

So what can we do differently?

That's what The Connection Reset is about.

Over three short videos, I'll share three small shifts that can change the way you listen, understand and respond to your teenager.

They're simple.

But don't mistake simple for easy.

They take awareness, practice and patience.

And perhaps the most empowering part is this:

You don't need your teenager to change first.

You can begin with the way you show up in the relationship today.

The three shifts we'll explore

Shift 1: Less Fixing. More Understanding.

Why our love can sometimes be experienced as correction, what our teenager may need when they come to us with a problem, and why listening is never "doing nothing".

Shift 2: Curiosity Changes Everything.

The question that shifts us from trying to stop a behaviour to becoming curious about what's underneath it, and how that can change the conversation.

Shift 3: The Relationship Comes First.

Why connection matters when we want more cooperation, and how the small, everyday moments can shape the relationship we're building.

What's included:

  • Three short video lessons to watch at your own pace

  • The Connection Reset Workbook with guided reflection questions

  • The Before You Begin exercise to help you notice where you're starting from

  • Lifetime access, so you can return whenever you need a reset

After this course you'll be better equipped to:

Listen without immediately jumping in to fix.

Notice the assumptions you may be making and replace them with curiosity.

Look beneath behaviour before deciding how to respond.

Create more opportunities for your teenager to feel heard, understood and emotionally safe with you.

And begin making small changes that can strengthen connection over time.

This isn't about becoming the perfect parent.

It's about changing how you show up in the everyday moments that shape your relationship.

A little about me

I'm Egli Shiakalli, a parent coach, youth coach and mediator, and I'm also a mum of teenagers.

I've spent more than 30 years working with teenagers, young people and families.

And if there's one thing I've learnt, both professionally and personally, it's that knowing what we should do as parents and actually being able to do it in the moment are two very different things.

I don't believe in perfect parenting.

I believe in curiosity over judgement, connection over control, and small changes that can make a meaningful difference to our relationships.

That's exactly why I've created The Connection Reset.

Ready to begin your Connection Reset?

You don't need to change everything.

You don't need to have all the answers.

And you don't need to wait for your teenager to change first.

Start with one small shift.

"Throughout all the sessions, Egli's demeanour oozed compassion and kindness. She is an excellent listener, and her guidance is thoughtful and practical, always checking that everything is clear. Her intention to be of service shines through whenever she speaks, and I would not hesitate to call upon her again, or to recommend her."

"Working alongside Egli on our school's wellbeing team, seeing her gentle presence and genuine care when speaking with parents made me realise even more how important it is to get to the heart of what both children and parents need. She has a unique way of guiding parents through needs-based communication, positive discipline, and mediating tricky conflicts with empathy and clarity. I whole-heartedly recommend her to any parent seeking guidance."

Maria Prastiti, School and Educational Psychologist

"Egli made me feel comfortable and at ease immediately. She emits a feeling of trust and has a calming presence - gentle and understanding, yet firm, truthful and kind. A great listener, with a real ability to communicate without judgement. She introduced me to non violent communication and helped me with the things I was struggling with around communication and family life."

How long does it take?

Under an hour in total. The videos are short. The reflections take as long as you want to give them.

My teenager won't do this with me.

They don't need to. Every shift in this course is something you do — not something you ask of them.

What if my teen is 10? Or 17?

This works across 10–18. The words change slightly with age; the three shifts don't.

When do I get access?

Immediately after checkout. You'll also receive an email with your login details.
